St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Route 5, Enfield, CT

Locally, this ceremony started in 2008 and is sponsored by several organizations, including the Penelope Terry Abbey Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Enfield Girl Scouts of America, the Enfield Boy Scouts of America, the Enfield Veterans Council, the Enfield Hooah Organization, and the Woman's Club of Enfield.

This is a very special ceremony to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach our children the value of freedom. The Worcester Wreath Company donates the seven ceremonial wreaths that will be placed near the veterans memorial markers in the cemetery. Each wreath represents a branch of military service--the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIA service men and women.

The week before the ceremony, a week-long "Veterans Parade" from Harrington, Maine, to Arlington National Cemetery takes place.  This parade includes a convoy of trucks carrying the wreaths escorted by police and Patriot Guard Riders.  Along the route, ceremonies are held at various locations.

For more information on the wreaths and the ceremony, please email our chapter regent.

The public is welcome to attend the ceremony without participating in the fundraising efforts.
